My dog is crying, I think he has gas. Can I give him human gas relievers, like 'Gas-X,' or will he get sicker?

He cries and has to gently lie down, and will sometimes cry and sit up a little bit, lifting his belly off the couch with his front paws stretched out. I'll take him to a vet in the morning but is there anything I can do for him now?
