Is it possible for me to sue and is it a bad idea for personal theft?

In January my jacket with my camera was stolen from me at the club in Orlando club Antigua, i reported it stolen that monday, and just yesterday the OCPD called and they have retreived my camera, i have to pay the sixty dollars that the kid pawned it for, so that the pawn shop comes out even, and it turns out that the guy that tried to pawn it was one of the security bouncers at the club. i am pressing charges and i want to know if there is anyway that i could sue him or make an agreement to pay me the money back?? This kid has no idea how much suffering he put me through, i was devestated i had just got the camera for christmas, it was the newest cannon camera and it cost nearly $400, and i wonder if i can charge him with "dealing in stolen properety". right now the deputy told me she can only charge him with stolen property because it has been 2 months since it was stolen, so theft might be out of the picture.. any thing will help thanks!!
