Film studies homework - killings in america?

i have been asked to write 5pages of script for a made up film that has been influenced by something other (perhaps in the media, or another film) i have decided to base mine upon the killings that took place in America (the veginia tech - college) i also have to write a synopsis of the whole film i was wondering if anybody had any ideas? it cant be exactly the same as i was wondering if you could please name me a highly populated college in america i could use, and also a place where the murderer could have originated from (if china? where in china?..etc.) as im rubbish with countries etc. lol well anyway let me know please =]
